Hello! my name is Carlos Deligiannides, and I am a freshman Computer Science major at MVNU. I wanted to share a little bit before we leave for Belize!
First of all, this trip will not be my first out of the country, but it is the most excited I've ever been before a trip! I have been to Guatemala before for a mission trip as well, but when the opportunity presented itself to me I knew it was something I had to do. Not for my own sake, but for the Lord's, to have the chance to do work in his name is something that brings great joy to me and to those we help.
We plan on installing solar panels onto roofs of schools and computer labs to alleviate the cost of electricity. In Belize the cost of electricity is high, and that is one of the biggest cost concerns for schools all over Belize next to teacher wages. We are also bringing down computers with Edubuntu installed on them for the students, and teachers to use in these computer labs.
I will be posting here frequently with what we have been doing along with pictures I will be taking on my GoPro! Thank you to every one who helped make this trip possible with your generous support.
