Nathan H. - New River and Lamanai

This post is a day late. I apologize, it was an exhausting day and I passed out asleep when we got back! Anyways, we went on a boat tour of the New River and Lamanai in the Orange Walk District of Belize on Tuesday Jan 6. This was an awesome experience. We got to see many exotic animals along the boat ride and we were super close to them which was pretty neat. We also got to visit 5 locations (in a general area) of Mayan ruins which was unique. The High Temple was the most profound to me, and it is a truly "high" temple. It is 108ft tall and I was able to climb to the top. At the top, there is a view over the canopy of the jungle and it was truly breathtaking. The day was long and exhausting but the experience was amazing. There are some pictures below so you can experience a little bit of the tour yourself.

"Chingo" - A Monkey that loves Cheeze-It's and Bananas.

A rainbow we saw on the way back and the Mayan High Temple.
Some cool shots of the water I got with my waterproof case. Best $20 investment so far!
A view of Water Bank, the New River, and the jungle canopy from the High Temple.
