Hey there!
It has been two days since our arrival and the culture shock is starting to wear off, thankfully! It amazes me how content the Belizean's are with their way of life, I guess as an American we have so much and take so much of it for granted. Ive posted earlier that I have traveled outside of the US but the places I had traveled to were still very modern.
Culture shock aside, we spent the first two days traveling across the nation of Belize to see some Mayan ruins and the capital of Belize. For those of you who do not know Belize is a pretty small country, so our travel distances are not very far. The infrastructure here is not that great, many roads are riddled with potholes. This makes riding in a van for several hours rather interesting, but kinda fun at the same time!
The food in here is somewhat typical of a latin american country however, it does please my taste. There is a lot of chicken, almost with every meal. Also there is an abundance of rice, beans, and fruits.
I'll try to include some pictures to go along with my posts. Here are a couple
